Couples and friend-groups of 2–5, of drinking age, staying one weekend night in
an Airbnb or similar short-let in the region. Melbourne or Adelaide day-trip
radius. They are buying a nice weekend, not an athletic achievement.

The problem moment

Saturday morning in the rental house. There are a dozen cellar doors within
15 km. Somebody has to drive and therefore has to not drink, or they book a bus
tour and spend the day on someone else's schedule with eleven strangers.

Current workarounds

• Nominated driver — one person's weekend is ruined.
• Guided bus/minibus wine tour — solves the driving, kills the autonomy.
• Guided cycling tour — Yarra Valley X
  runs a guided e-bike winery tour, public departures every Saturday 10am–4pm at
  $195pp, and a Friday 3pm–9pm option from $275pp ($175 ride-only); they
  pick guests up from their accommodation. Group rides together, fixed pace.
• Tour de Vines
  Yarra Valley day bike tour from $159pp, with e-bike hire $25/day extra.
  (Audit note: the same operator's own site lists e-bike hire at A$150/3d, A$300/4d,
  A$400/6d — i.e. A$50–75/day. The $25 figure is the cheapest of two same-operator
  numbers.)
• Hire bikes from a shop and improvise — collect them in person, carry your
  own wine, no fallback if it rains or a chain snaps.

Urgency and frequency

Repeatable and seasonal rather than urgent. The same customer might do this
once or twice a year, but the regional short-let market refills the customer
pool every weekend, which is the more useful property.
