All of this came from direct fetches of operator websites — the session's
search quota was exhausted before this sweep began, so search engines were used
only to discover URLs.

The headline finding: France's support-logistics industry refuses to serve Airbnb

Three independent French support-logistics businesses state on their own sites
that they will not service short-let accommodation:

The stated reason in all three cases is reception. A hotel or gîte has a front
desk that can sign for a bag or hold a bike. An Airbnb does not.

Read this carefully, because it cuts both ways. The Australian model —
e-bikes delivered to an Airbnb door, a van collecting wine from that same door —
inverts the assumption the entire French support-logistics industry is built on.
That is either the moat or the operational nightmare, and it is not a solved
problem in France. Before anything else, the product needs a concrete answer to
reception: a lockbox, a fixed delivery window the guest must be present for,
or a standing agreement with the host. Note that the Australian concept is
partly insulated — the customer is there on a Saturday morning riding from the
house, rather than checked out and 40 km down the road — but the Friday-evening
drop and the Sunday collection have exactly the French problem.

1. Bourgogne Evasion / Active Tours — the same company, and the closest analogue in France

pickup locations, one-way rentals between them permitted, delivery to
accommodation available (price not published).

Château Cyclo Vino Côte de Beaune full day €125; Côte de Nuits €149.

The €125 Château Cyclo Vino page is the richest single data point in the French
scan [VERIFIED]: 30 km, 10:00–17:00, includes bike + helmet, restaurant lunch,
"8 wines tasting minimum in 2 wineries", GPS app, roadbook and map.
E-bike upgrade +€35pp. "Tranquility" cancellation option +€10pp. Price stated
as "based on 10 participants minimum".

That last clause is the finding. A self-guided day product priced off a
batch of 10 unrelated customers, not off a private group. Somebody in
Burgundy has already worked out that self-guided support amortises across a
cohort — they just express it as a minimum rather than as a shared van.

Multi-day self-guided [VERIFIED]: Beaune 2D/1N €195; Beaune 4D/3N €463;
Dijon→Beaune 4D/3N €490. Under the Active Tours brand: Beaune 4D/3N from

Mon–Fri 09:00–17:00, plus an emergency number issued at tour start "to arrange a
breakdown service". Critically:

"contact our local support team or ask your hotel to book a taxi. This
transfer is at your own expense."

The tired rider pays for their own taxi.

WINE LOGISTICS [VERIFIED — Bourgogne Evasion FAQ**]:** they encourage buying —
"Prices are cheaper than town" — then disclaim: "there is absolutely no
obligation and we aren't responsible for wine sold, breakages, shipping or
losses." No collection service. Luggage transfer is outsourced to a
partner, Le Porte-Bagages (see the shared-cost support layer chapter).

Seasonality [VERIFIED]: shop open daily 09:00–18:00 1 April – 31 October;
1 November – 31 March by appointment only (closed Sundays). Day tours
bookable year-round by reservation.
