17. Bravo Bike

  • URL: https://www.bravobike.com · Madrid, 20+ years. Guided and self-guided;
Spain, Rioja & Ribera del Duero, Penedès, 20+ European countries, Vietnam,
    South Africa.
  • "Our one-week cycling tours are accompanied by a mini-bus support service"
    dedicated van, one group.
  • Rioja wine bike tour: €2,535, 8 days / 7 nights, 2026 pricing [VERIFIED].
Luggage transfer, e-bike options, hotels included.

18. Bike Spain Tours

  • URL: https://www.bikespain.com · Madrid (Plaza de la Villa 1), claims
30+ years. Guided, self-guided and luxury custom; official tour operator for
    La Vuelta '26
. "Wine Country" is a named destination category. Fleet is
Specialized including Creo Road and Vado SL e-bikes; support vans and
    luggage transfer.
  • Consolidation, verified: the old bikespaintours.com still resolves in DNS
(46.231.1.155, with live MX records) but serves nothing over HTTP or HTTPS
the business consolidated onto bikespain.com and kept the old domain for email.
  • [NOT FOUND] prices — behind a "Trip Finder".

19. La Rioja Bike Tours — and the B2B ground-handler pattern

  • URL: https://www.lariojabiketours.com · Lardero (La Rioja), 10+ years as a
    local operator
    .
  • The key finding is B2B [VERIFIED]: "Algunas de las mejores agencias de tours
en bici del mundo confían en La RiojaBikeTours para ofrecer a sus clientes
auténticas experiencias ciclistas en La Rioja"
they are a ground handler for
international operators as well as a direct seller.
    Partner logos: Pasión
Ciclista, Radikal Bike, Mérida Bikes, JWA Tours.
  • FAQ [VERIFIED — /faq**]:** bookings from 1 person up to 50 pax;
no prepayment at all"No cobramos nada por adelantado. Su palabra es
    suficiente"
; every rental includes a puncture kit and pump on anti-puncture
tyres; "Si no puede resolverlo por su cuenta, lo atenderemos sin costo
    alguno"
free rescue/repair if you can't fix it yourself, but no van, no
schedule, no response time; contact by email, phone or WhatsApp.
  • Informal rescue in practice [SECONDARY — a testimonial on their own homepage,
i.e. anecdote not policy**]:** a rider with knee trouble had owner José ship his
bike home and drive him to Bilbao airport
    .
  • They also broker "alojamientos, bodegas, actividades, transporte de maletas,
    logística, guías privados"
luggage transfer is arranged, not owned.
    Site is Wix.

The "many brands, one local operator" pattern is invisible from the front end
and worth noting as a route to market.
A single Australian van business could be
the ground handler behind several tour brands' Barossa product rather than
competing with them — which is exactly what La Rioja Bike Tours and (in Burgundy)
Le Porte-Bagages have done.

20. La Rioja PUNTO BIKE

  • URL: https://www.larioja.bike · Ezcaray (La Rioja). Premium "BIKE & WINE",

21. Bike Tours Barcelona / "Un Cotxe Menys"

  • URL: https://www.biketoursbarcelona.com · "Discovering Barcelona by bicycle
    since 1995."
City-led rather than Penedès-led, but the wine-adjacent SKU exists:

tours €40–€60 pp. Groups 1–250. Bikes and eBikes.

24. Portugal Bike Tours / BTTour — the most transparent operator in the entire scan

Their product taxonomy is exactly the decision tree the Australian business sits
inside [VERIFIED
— /bike-tour-versions/]:

Tier Minimum What you get
Self-Guided 2 people GPS device on the handlebar, all tracks preloaded. "As you are on your own, taking care of your bicycle is your responsibility… you must be able to solve any mechanical problem… such as a flat tire or broken chain." "You will only meet Portugal Bike Team on the first and last days; your luggage will be transferred by taxis every day." Can start any day of the week.
Supported 4 people Adds a local guide in a van: meets you at the hotel each morning and "at certain points along the way"; mechanical assistance, water resupply, energy bars/nuts/fruit, and — the key line — "a lift in the van to the hotel." Riders still ride at their own pace with GPS.
Full Guided 6 people, on request As Supported plus a guide riding with the group.

Read the middle tier carefully. "Supported" is self-guided riding with a van
that meets you at points along the way and will drive you home
. That is the
Cellar Door Cycling promise almost word for word. The difference is that Portugal
Bike needs four people from one booking to run it, and it follows a linear
itinerary. The Australian version needs four people from four different
bookings
on one loop.

Note too what the van makes possible: "riders still ride at their own pace"
the van is what lets mixed-ability people travel together. That is a sharper
customer benefit than rescue, and it is not currently in the Australian pitch.

Pricing, "The Charming Pousadas in Alentejo", 7d/6n/5 riding days, self-guided

€1,830 (Nov 2026 and Jan–Feb 2027 floor) rising to €2,390 (mid-Sep 2027
peak); e.g. 01–07 Oct 2026 €2,130, 19–31 Oct 2026 €2,080, 01 May 2027
€2,270. A ~31% peak-to-trough swing on an identical product.

  • Group discount for 4 or more. Prices on double occupancy; single supplement
    charged.
  • E-bike: +€350 for the week (CUBE Nuroad C:62 Race 400X e-gravel, claimed
250 km+ range). Road and gravel/hybrid bikes are included in the base price
the inverse of Puglia Cycle Tours.
  • Included: initial briefing, GPS with tracks, "our comfortable transfer vehicle
    van with air conditioning"
, all airport-to-airport transport, all baggage
    transportation by taxi
, documentation booklet, Personal Accident Insurance and
    Liability Insurance
    .
  • Changing bike type mid-tour incurs the cost of getting the replacement to you.
  • Other published prices: Medieval Villages in Alentejo, supported, 6d — from

    13d — from €2,870; Camino de Santiago self-guided gravel 7d — from €2,470.
  • Regulatory [VERIFIED — /faqs/]: "according to Portuguese law and Turismo
de Portugal, each company is required to offer insurance for each tour
    participant."
Insurance is compulsory, not optional, for Portuguese operators.
  • Van capacity is a live constraint: "Our vans always have limited space
reserved for our clients' luggage, so we urge everyone to be restrained with the
    volume."
    One suitcase + one backpack.
  • E-bike charging: hotels described as universally accommodating overnight charging
    and secure bike storage.

25. Top Bike Tours Portugal

Tier Price Season loading
Self-guided €1,574 (low season) +€250 regular / +€360 high / +€415 summer
Guided €2,220 same loadings
Guided Premium €3,485 same loadings
  • Single supplement +€480 to +€840 depending on season.
  • E-bike +€300 · carbon road +€320 · carbon gravel +€420 · hybrid
    included.
  • Included at all tiers: 4★ hotels / rural houses / Quintas with breakfast,

    GPS routing.
  • Guided/Premium add: professional guide, mechanical assistance, **personal accident
    • liability insurance**, and van support at a minimum of 8 participants.
  • Note the insurance is only in the guided tiers — self-guided riders carry their
    own risk
, which sits awkwardly against Portugal Bike's statement that insurance
    is legally compulsory. Worth probing.
  • Excluded: meals beyond breakfast (add-on packages €350–€950), city tax
    ~€2–4/night, ferries €2–10.
  • [NOT FOUND] /faq/ returns 404; no published rescue policy.

Guided-with-van costs €646 more than self-guided on the identical route
(€2,220 vs €1,574, +41%).
That is the market's price for putting a vehicle
behind you for a week — about €92 per person per riding day, before the van
even has to be shared.
