  La Vuelta '26. "Wine Country" is a named destination category. Fleet is
  Specialized including Creo Road and Vado SL e-bikes; support vans and
  luggage transfer.
• Consolidation, verified: the old bikespaintours.com still resolves in DNS
  (46.231.1.155, with live MX records) but serves nothing over HTTP or HTTPS —
  the business consolidated onto bikespain.com and kept the old domain for email.

19. La Rioja Bike Tours — and the B2B ground-handler pattern

  local operator.
• The key finding is B2B [VERIFIED]: "Algunas de las mejores agencias de tours
  en bici del mundo confían en La RiojaBikeTours para ofrecer a sus clientes
  auténticas experiencias ciclistas en La Rioja" — they are a ground handler for
  international operators as well as a direct seller. Partner logos: Pasión
  Ciclista, Radikal Bike, Mérida Bikes, JWA Tours.
• FAQ [VERIFIED — /faq**]:** bookings from 1 person up to 50 pax;
  no prepayment at all — "No cobramos nada por adelantado. Su palabra es
  suficiente"; every rental includes a puncture kit and pump on anti-puncture
  tyres; "Si no puede resolverlo por su cuenta, lo atenderemos sin costo
  alguno" — free rescue/repair if you can't fix it yourself, but no van, no
  schedule, no response time; contact by email, phone or WhatsApp.
• Informal rescue in practice [SECONDARY — a testimonial on their own homepage,
  i.e. anecdote not policy**]:** a rider with knee trouble had owner José ship his
  bike home and drive him to Bilbao airport.
• They also broker "alojamientos, bodegas, actividades, transporte de maletas,

The "many brands, one local operator" pattern is invisible from the front end
and worth noting as a route to market. A single Australian van business could be
the ground handler behind several tour brands' Barossa product rather than
competing with them — which is exactly what La Rioja Bike Tours and (in Burgundy)
Le Porte-Bagages have done.

20. La Rioja PUNTO BIKE

  van support" on the Ainsa Enduro. Claims a ~60% client return rate. Locally
  owned accommodation.

  explicitly built for the shoulder season.

Portugal.

24. Portugal Bike Tours / BTTour — the most transparent operator in the entire scan

  Portuguese company organizing bicycle tours in Portugal."

Their product taxonomy is exactly the decision tree the Australian business sits
inside [VERIFIED — /bike-tour-versions/]:

Read the middle tier carefully. "Supported" is self-guided riding with a van
that meets you at points along the way and will drive you home. That is the
Cellar Door Cycling promise almost word for word. The difference is that Portugal
Bike needs four people from one booking to run it, and it follows a linear
itinerary. The Australian version needs four people from four different
bookings on one loop.

Note too what the van makes possible: "riders still ride at their own pace" —
the van is what lets mixed-ability people travel together. That is a sharper
customer benefit than rescue, and it is not currently in the Australian pitch.

Pricing, "The Charming Pousadas in Alentejo", 7d/6n/5 riding days, self-guided
[VERIFIED]: headline from €1,800, with a published date-by-date calendar —
€1,830 (Nov 2026 and Jan–Feb 2027 floor) rising to €2,390 (mid-Sep 2027

  transportation by taxi, documentation booklet, Personal Accident Insurance and
  Liability Insurance.
• Changing bike type mid-tour incurs the cost of getting the replacement to you.

behind you for a week — about €92 per person per riding day, before the van

26. Cycling Rentals — the explicit disclaimers, and a courier-based bike model

  save €175 pp by carrying panniers instead of using the luggage shuttle —
  that is the market rate for a week of luggage transfer, stated as a discount.

• Bike delivery model worth noting: bikes arrive boxed, fully assembled, by
  courier, direct to your hotel 1–3 days before the start, and are collected after
  the last riding day with no re-boxing. A courier-based, van-free logistics
  model — relevant to the Australian delivery-to-Airbnb question.
• The explicit disclaimers [VERIFIED — /faq.html**]:** support is "call or text
